Two earthquakes about 12 minutes apart. At least 30 people killed, 245 injured and damage (VIII) in the Cherchell-Tifaza area. Felt (IV) in the Balearic Islands, Spain.
M7.1 - Papua, Indonesia, 1976
The earthquake was centered in the rough jungle are about 250 kilometers south of Jayapura. The death toll from the earthquake and landslides caused by the earthquake is reported at 133.
