M4.1 - South Dakota-Minnesota Border, 1993
This rare earthquake shook a wide area of western Minnesota and neighboring states. The epicenter was about 70 kilometers south-southwest of Fergus Falls and 110 kilometers northeast of Watertown, South Dakota. The earthquake caused slight damage at Wheaton, where shaking reached intensity MM VI. This earthquake was felt throughout much of west-central Minnesota, as far east as Minneapolis, and at many places in northeastern South Dakota and southeastern North Dakota.
