One person killed, 3,000 houses destroyed and 20,000 people left homeless in the Ust-Kamenogorsk-Zaysan area, USSR. Damage in Jeminay and Habahe Counties. China. Felt (V) at Novosibirsk, Semipalatinsk and Ust-Kamenogorsk and (III) at Andizhan and Frunze, USSR. Also felt at Urumqi, China.
