Summary

I will share results from site-specific, three-dimensional, mechanical models of coseismically interacting faults and from bare bones, two-dimensional, generalized models of fault slip and growth over geologic time that assume a lazy Earth. Both approaches provide insights into segmented, strike-slip fault systems that are critical to mitigating seismic hazard, understanding fault evolution, and characterizing subsurface fluid flow.
