Summary

You may already know that results from the USGS National Seismic Hazard Mapping/Modeling Project (NSHMP) are used in U.S. building codes, but how are they used? This seminar will discuss the derivation of building code ground motion maps from the NSHMP hazard model. In doing so, it will speak to some of the statements in the recent New York Times articles on tall buildings in San Francisco.
