The USGS has recently released a 2016 one-year seismic hazard forecast for the Central and Eastern United States. This forecast includes seismic hazard from induced and natural earthquakes. Maps, documentation, and data will be posted here, at the Induced Earthquakes link below as they become available.

  • Custom Hazard Maps
Replot local portions of national hazard maps. You define center and span.
  • Custom Earthquake Probability Maps
Map and table of probability that an earthquake with magnitude > M and distance < R will occur in the next k years. Uses the 2009 or 2002 model. Centered on user-supplied location.
  • Hazard Curves
Displays hazard curves and uniform hazard response spectra, and provides details on programmatic access to USGS hazard data.
  • Vs30
Generates map and grid of Vs30 derived from topographic slope for anywhere in the world.
  • Interactive Deaggregations
Tables and plots of source contributions to hazard exceedance by magnitude, distance, ε and ε0 in the conterminous US, Alaska, and Hawaii.
  • Banded Deaggregations
For a given location, generates a plot of ground motion in bands versus rate as well as an ascii text file of the hazard matrices for each ground motion band.
