The Menlo Park Fire Protection District and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) hosted a 2-hour basic emergency preparedness class to help residents become better prepared. Participants learned about local disasters and how to protect themselves, their families and their neighborhood.

Steve Walter, USGS geologist informed residents about earthquakes. It's not "if" but "when" the next earthquake is going to happen. Menlo Park Fire Protection District discussed how to prepare before a disaster.
