- Summary
In this talk I will discuss the Seafloor Geodetic efforts jointly undertaken by the USGS' Earthquake Science Center and Coastal and Marine Hazards and Research Programs. Our research is currently motivated by the combined process and hazards objectives of gaining a better understanding of megathrust subduction zone earthquake slip processes and how they relate to fault plane frictional properties. I will present GNSS-Acoustic displacement results and analyses from 3 recent Alaskan subduction zone earthquakes (M7.8 Simeonof, M7.6 Sand Point, and M8.2 Chignik), interseismic GNSS-A displacements and network build-out from the Cascadia subduction zone, and lots of pretty pictures of transponders, boats, and ocean surface vessels (autonomous and otherwise).
