Floating M7.4 on Wasatch fault added for March 2009 update based on recommendation from Utah Geological Survey. The characteristic magnitude for this fault is fixed at M7.4 even though the length of the fault would permit a larger earthquake. Resulting mean recurrence for 50? dip is 500 yr, 330 yr for 40? dip, and 911 yr 60? dip. |
