Four persons killed, and many injured. Extensive property damage in south-central Mexico. Tsunami with a maximum amplitude of about 2.8 feet reported at Acapulco.

Four deaths. Damage at Moquegua; slight damage (VI) at Arequipa and Tacna. Landslides and seiches were observed. It was felt from Huancayo and Cuzco as far south as Iqueque, Chile.
