M5.9 - Western Iran, 1977
The earthquake was centered about 800 kilometers northwest of Bandar Abbas. The earthquake killed at least 348, injured about 200, and caused damage over an area of approximately 150 square kilometers. The area that received the heaviest damage was southwest of Isfahan near the Zagross Mountains about 400 kilometers south of Tehran.
