The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available.

Felt Reports

At least one dead and 150 injured. 58 houses destroyed and 455 seriously damaged. A six inch tsunami was recorded. Felt (V) at Kanazawa; (III) at Nagoya and Osaka; (II) at Kobe, Kyoto, Tokyo and Yokohama. Also felt at Aizuwakamatsu, Ayase, Daito, Hakui, Hiroshima, Ibaraki, Ichinomiya, Ina, Inazawa, Itoigawa, Iwakuni, Kaga, Kashiwazaki, Kizu, Kodaira, Kokubunji, Komoro, Konan, Koriyama, Kosugi, Kusatsu, Matsumoto, Nagahama, Nagai, Nagaoka, Nara, Niigata, Nyuzen, Okayama, Okazaki, Sagamihara, Sanda, Sayama, Shiojiri, Suita, Takayama, Tokamachi, Tondabayashi, Toyama, Yokosuka and Yonezawa. Recorded (6U JMA) in Ishikawa, (3 JMA) in much of central Honshu and (2 JMA) throughout Honshu. Also recorded (1 JMA) in southwestern Hokkaido.
