The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred 120 km (75 miles) S of Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia 300 km (185 miles) NW of Bengkulu, Sumatra, Indonesia 595 km (370 miles) SSW of KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia 855 km (530 miles) WNW of JAKARTA, Java, Indonesia at 2:31 AM MDT, Sep 20, 2007 (3:31 PM local time in Indonesia). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available.
Felt (V) at Painan; (IV) at Kerinci, Merangin and Padangpanjang; (III) at Kapahjang, Muaro Jambi and Padang; (II) at Bukittinggi. Also felt in Singapore.
